878/1147(حسن الإسناد)عن كثير بن مرّة قال: دخلت المسجد يوم الجمعة، فوجدت عوف بن مالك الأشجعي جالساً في حلقةٍ، مدّ(1)رجليه بين يديه، فلما رآني قبض رجليه، ثم قال لي:"تدري لأي شيء مددت رجلي؟ ليجيء رجل صالح فيجلس".
English Translation
Kathir ibn Murrah said: I entered the mosque on a Friday and found Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja'i sitting in a circle with his legs stretched out. When he saw me, he drew his legs in and said to me: 'Do you know why I had my legs stretched out? So that a righteous man would come and sit.'
