707/915-(حسن لغيره)عن عبد الله بن السائب: أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عام الحديبية، حين ذكر عثمان بن عفان أن سهيلاً قد أرسله إليه قومه، فصالحوه، على أن يرجع عنهم هذا العام، ويخلوها لهم قابل ثلاثة، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حين أتى. فقيل: أتى سهيل(1)"سهل الله أمركم". وكان عبد الله بن السائب أدرك النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
English Translation
Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him), during the year of Hudaybiyyah, when Uthman ibn Affan mentioned that Suhayl had been sent to him by his people, and they agreed to make peace — that the Prophet would return that year and they would allow him entry the following year for three days — said, when [Suhayl] came and it was said 'Suhayl has come': 'May Allah make your affair easy (sahl).' Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib had met the Prophet (peace be upon him).
