654/847 عن أنس قال: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يدخل علينا-ولي أخ صغير يكنى: أبا عمير، وكان له نغير يلعب به، فمات – فدخل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فرآه حزيناً. فقال:"ما شأنه؟". قيل له: مات نغره. فقال:" يا أبا عمير! ما فعل النغير"(1).
English Translation
Anas said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to visit us — and I had a small brother whose kunya was Abu Umayr, and he had a small bird he used to play with, but it died. The Prophet (peace be upon him) entered and saw him sad, so he asked: 'What is the matter with him?' He was told: 'His bird died.' So he said: 'O Abu Umayr! What happened to the little bird (nughayr)?'
