53/72 عن جبير بن مطعم أنه سمع عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يقول على المنبر:"تعلموا أنسابكم، ثم صلوا أرحامكم، والله إنه ليكون بين الرجل وبين أخيه الشيء، ولو يعلم الذي بينه وبينه من داخلة الرحم، لأوزعه ذلك عن انتهاكه".
English Translation
Jubayr ibn Mut'im reported that he heard Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, say on the pulpit: 'Learn your lineages, then maintain your ties of kinship. By Allah, there may be a dispute between a man and his brother, but if he knew the closeness of kinship between them, it would prevent him from violating his rights.'
