حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ كَانَ قِتَالٌ بَيْنَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَتَاهُمْ لِيُصْلِحَ بَيْنَهُمْ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ فَقَالَ لِبِلاَلٍ " إِنْ حَضَرَتْ صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ وَلَمْ آتِكَ فَمُرْ أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " . فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتِ الْعَصْرُ أَذَّنَ بِلاَلٌ ثُمَّ أَقَامَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَتَقَدَّمَ قَالَ فِي آخِرِهِ " إِذَا نَابَكُمْ شَىْءٌ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَلْيُسَبِّحِ الرِّجَالُ وَلْيُصَفِّحِ النِّسَاءُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates: 'There was fighting among Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was informed, so he went to reconcile between them after Zuhr. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to Hadrat Bilal: "If the time for Asr prayer comes and I have not returned, tell Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." When the time for Asr came, Hadrat Bilal gave the adhan, then the iqamah, and then instructed Hadrat Abu Bakr (al-Siddiq, may Allah be well pleased with him), who stepped forward.' At the end he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'If something occurs during your prayer, men should say SubhanAllah and women should clap.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت سہل بن سعد (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) فرماتے ہیں: بنو عمرو بن عوف میں لڑائی ہوئی — نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو خبر ملی تو ظہر کے بعد ان میں صلح کرانے تشریف لے گئے۔ حضرت بلال سے ارشاد فرمایا: اگر عصر کی نماز کا وقت آ جائے اور میں نہ آؤں تو حضرت ابوبکر سے کہو کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔ جب عصر کا وقت آیا تو حضرت بلال نے اذان دی پھر اقامت کہی، پھر حضرت ابوبکر (صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) کو حکم دیا — وہ آگے بڑھے۔ آخر میں ارشاد فرمایا: جب تمہیں نماز میں کوئی بات پیش آئے تو مرد سُبْحَانَ اللّٰہ کہیں اور عورتیں تالی بجائیں۔
