حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ يُرِيدُ بِذَلِكَ أَنْ يُدْرِكَ النَّاسُ الرَّكْعَةَ الأُولَى .
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates: 'We thought that he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) intended by this (lengthening the first rak'ah) that people should catch the first rak'ah (i.e., so that latecomers could join).'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوقتادہ (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) سے مروی ہے، فرماتے ہیں: ہم نے سمجھا کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اس (یعنی پہلی رکعت لمبی رکھنے) سے یہ چاہتے تھے کہ لوگ پہلی رکعت پا لیں (یعنی دیر سے آنے والے شامل ہو جائیں)۔
