Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ السَّرْحِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ حُيَىٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، - يَعْنِي الْحُبُلِيَّ - عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنِينَ يَفْضُلُونَنَا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " قُلْ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ فَإِذَا انْتَهَيْتَ فَسَلْ تُعْطَهْ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that a man submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! The mu'adhdhins surpass us (i.e., they earn more reward than us).' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Say the same as they say, and when you finish, ask (in du'a), and you will be given.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! مؤذن ہم سے زیادہ فضیلت والے ہیں (یعنی ان کا اجر ہم سے زیادہ ہے)۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: وہی کہو جو وہ کہتے ہیں، پھر جب (اذان) ختم ہو جائے تو مانگو، تمہیں عطا کیا جائے گا۔
