Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ، رضى الله عنه قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مُرْنِي بِكَلِمَاتٍ أَقُولُهُنَّ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتُ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتُ . قَالَ " قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَشَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ " . قَالَ " قُلْهَا إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ وَإِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ " .
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), teach me words that I may say in the morning and evening.' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Say: Allahumma Fatiras samawati wal ardi, Alimal ghaybi wash shahadah, Rabba kulli shay'in wa malikah, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Anta, a'udhu bika min sharri nafsi wa sharrish shaytani wa shirkihi (O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that there is no deity but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my self and from the evil of the devil and his polytheism).' He stated: 'Say it when you reach the morning, when you reach the evening, and when you go to bed.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! مجھے کچھ کلمات بتائیں جو میں صبح و شام کہا کروں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کہو: اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَشَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ (اے اللہ! آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا فرمانے والے، غیب اور حاضر کے جاننے والے، ہر چیز کے رب اور مالک، میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، میں اپنے نفس کے شر سے اور شیطان کے شر اور اس کے شرک سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں)۔ فرمایا: اسے صبح، شام اور جب سونے لگو تب پڑھا کرو۔
