حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، وَأَبِي، هُرَيْرَةَ قَالاَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَىْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَيَجِيءُ الْغَرِيبُ فَلاَ يَدْرِي أَيُّهُمْ هُوَ حَتَّى يَسْأَلَ فَطَلَبْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ نَجْعَلَ لَهُ مَجْلِسًا يَعْرِفُهُ الْغَرِيبُ إِذَا أَتَاهُ - قَالَ - فَبَنَيْنَا لَهُ دُكَّانًا مِنْ طِينٍ فَجَلَسَ عَلَيْهِ وَكُنَّا نَجْلِسُ بِجَنْبَتَيْهِ وَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ هَذَا الْخَبَرِ فَأَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ فَذَكَرَ هَيْئَتَهُ حَتَّى سَلَّمَ مِنْ طَرْفِ السِّمَاطِ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ . قَالَ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم .
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Dharr and Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrate: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to sit among his Companions, and a stranger would come and not recognize who the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was until he asked. We requested the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to let us make a sitting place for him so that a stranger could identify him when he came. So we built a platform of clay for him; he would sit upon it and we would sit on both sides. Then they mentioned an incident similar to the Hadith of Jibril — that a man came and they described his appearance — he greeted from the end of the rows and said: Peace be upon you, O Muhammad! The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) returned his greeting.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوذر اور حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اپنے اصحاب کے درمیان بیٹھا کرتے تھے اور کوئی اجنبی آتا تو اسے پہچان نہ پاتا کہ آپ کون ہیں یہاں تک کہ پوچھتا۔ ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے درخواست کی کہ آپ کے لیے ایک مجلس بنائیں تاکہ اجنبی آئے تو پہچان لے۔ پس ہم نے آپ کے لیے مٹی کا ایک چبوترہ بنایا، آپ اس پر بیٹھتے اور ہم دونوں طرف بیٹھتے — پھر حدیثِ جبریل کے مانند واقعہ ذکر کیا کہ ایک شخص آیا اور اس کی ہیئت بیان کی — سماط (صفوں) کے کنارے سے سلام کیا اور کہا: السلام علیکم یا محمد! نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس کا جواب دیا۔
