حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، أَنَّ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ بْنَ لاَحِقٍ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَقُولُ " لاَ هَامَةَ وَلاَ عَدْوَى وَلاَ طِيَرَةَ وَإِنْ تَكُنِ الطِّيَرَةُ فِي شَىْءٍ فَفِي الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) states that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: When Allah the Mighty and Majestic created Adam (upon him be peace), He passed His Hand over his back, and every soul that He would create from his descendants until the Day of Resurrection fell from his back. He placed a gleam of light between the eyes of each one and then presented them before Adam (upon him be peace). He said: O Lord, who are they? He said: These are your descendants. He saw a man among them whose gleam of light between his eyes astonished him. He said: O Lord, who is this? He said: This is a man from the latter communities of your descendants, named Dawud. He said: O Lord, how long is his lifespan? He said: Sixty years. He said: O Lord, increase his lifespan by forty years from my own. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: When the lifespan of Adam (upon him be peace) drew to a close, the Angel of Death came. Adam (upon him be peace) said: Do I not have forty years remaining? The angel said: Did you not give them to your son Dawud? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Adam denied, so his descendants denied; Adam forgot, so his descendants forgot. Abu Dawud (upon him be mercy) mentioned this hadith because of the variant reading of the word 'taqra'u.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جب اللہ عزوجل نے آدم (علیہ السلام) کو پیدا فرمایا تو ان کی پیٹھ (پشت) مسح فرمائی، تو ان کی پیٹھ سے جتنی ذریت قیامت تک پیدا ہونے والی ہے سب گری، اور ہر ایک کی دونوں آنکھوں کے درمیان نور کی چمک رکھی، پھر انہیں آدم (علیہ السلام) کے سامنے پیش کیا۔ انہوں نے عرض کیا: اے رب! یہ کون ہیں؟ ارشاد ہوا: یہ تمہاری ذریت ہے۔ انہوں نے ان میں سے ایک شخص کو دیکھا جن کی آنکھوں کے درمیان نور کی چمک نے انہیں متحیر کر دیا۔ عرض کیا: اے رب! یہ کون ہے؟ فرمایا: یہ تمہاری اولاد میں سے آخری امتوں میں سے ایک شخص ہے جس کا نام داؤد ہے۔ عرض کیا: اے رب! اس کی عمر کتنی ہے؟ فرمایا: ساٹھ سال۔ عرض کیا: اے رب! اپنی عمر سے چالیس سال اسے بڑھا دے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جب آدم (علیہ السلام) کی عمر پوری ہو چلی تو ملک الموت آئے۔ آدم (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: کیا ابھی چالیس سال باقی نہیں ہیں؟ تو فرشتے نے کہا: کیا تم نے اپنے بیٹے داؤد کو دے نہیں دیے تھے؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تو آدم (علیہ السلام) نے انکار کیا تو ان کی ذریت بھی انکار کرنے لگی، آدم (علیہ السلام) بھول گئے تو ان کی ذریت بھی بھولنے لگی۔ حضرت ابوداؤد رحمۃ اللہ علیہ نے اس حدیث کو «تَقْرَأُ» کی (مختلف) قراءت کی وجہ سے ذکر کیا ہے۔
