Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَقْطَعَ الزُّبَيْرَ حُضْرَ فَرَسِهِ فَأَجْرَى فَرَسَهُ حَتَّى قَامَ ثُمَّ رَمَى بِسَوْطِهِ فَقَالَ " أَعْطُوهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ بَلَغَ السَّوْطُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) granted Hadrat al-Zubayr (may Allah be well pleased with him) land equal to the run of his horse as an iqta'. He galloped his horse until it stopped, then threw his whip. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Give him (land) from where the whip has reached.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے حضرت زبیر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو ان کے گھوڑے کی دوڑ کے برابر (زمین) اِقطاع کے طور پر عطا فرمائی۔ انہوں نے گھوڑا دوڑایا یہاں تک کہ وہ رُک گیا، پھر اپنا کوڑا پھینکا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: انہیں جہاں تک کوڑا پہنچا ہے وہاں تک دو۔
