Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ، وَرَّثَ أُخْتًا وَابْنَةً فَجَعَلَ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا النِّصْفَ وَهُوَ بِالْيَمَنِ وَنَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَئِذٍ حَىٌّ .
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat al-Aswad ibn Yazid that Hadrat Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be well pleased with him) distributed the estate between a sister and a daughter, giving each of them half (because a sister becomes an agnatic heir alongside a daughter). He was at that time in Yemen, and the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was alive at that time.
Urdu Translation
حضرت اسود بن یزید سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بہن اور بیٹی میں ترکہ اس طرح تقسیم فرمایا کہ آدھا مال بیٹی کو ملا اور آدھا بہن کو (کیونکہ بہن، بیٹی کے ساتھ عصبہ ہو جاتی ہے)۔ اور وہ اس وقت یمن میں تھے، اور اللہ کے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اس وقت باحیات تھے۔
