حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرٌ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي بَحْرِيَّةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " الْغَزْوُ غَزْوَانِ فَأَمَّا مَنِ ابْتَغَى وَجْهَ اللَّهِ، وَأَطَاعَ الإِمَامَ، وَأَنْفَقَ الْكَرِيمَةَ، وَيَاسَرَ الشَّرِيكَ، وَاجْتَنَبَ الْفَسَادَ، فَإِنَّ نَوْمَهُ وَنَبْهَهُ أَجْرٌ كُلُّهُ وَأَمَّا مَنْ غَزَا فَخْرًا وَرِيَاءً وَسُمْعَةً، وَعَصَى الإِمَامَ، وَأَفْسَدَ فِي الأَرْضِ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ بِالْكَفَافِ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Expeditions are of two kinds: as for the one who sought the pleasure of Allah, obeyed the commander, spent his best wealth, dealt gently with his companion, and avoided corruption — then his sleep and his wakefulness are all rewarded. But as for the one who fought out of pride, showing off and seeking fame, disobeyed the commander, and spread corruption in the land — he shall not return even with breaking even."
Urdu Translation
حضرت معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "غزوہ دو طرح کا ہے: جس نے اللہ تعالیٰ کی رضا چاہی، امام (امیر) کی اطاعت کی، اچھا مال خرچ کیا، ساتھی سے نرمی سے پیش آیا اور فساد سے بچا رہا، تو اس کی نیند اور بیداری سب میں اجر ہے۔ اور جس نے فخر، ریاکاری اور شہرت کے لیے غزوہ کیا، امام (امیر) کی نافرمانی کی اور زمین میں فساد پھیلایا، تو وہ برابر (بھی حاصل نہ کر سکے گا) بلکہ واپس نہیں آئے گا۔"
