Hadrat Salamah ibn Sakhr al-Bayadi (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: I was a man who had more intimate relations with women than others. When the month of Ramadan began, I feared that I would be overcome by desire for my wife and continue until morning, so I performed zihar (declaring my wife unlawful to me like my mother's back) until the month of Ramadan would pass. One night while she was serving me, something of her body was uncovered. I could not restrain myself and had relations with her. In the morning, I went to my people, told them what had happened, and said: Come with me to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). They refused, saying: No, by Allah! So I went alone to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and informed him. He stated: "Did you really do that, O Salamah?" I submitted: Yes, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — twice — and I am patient upon the command of Allah, so pronounce upon me what Allah has shown you. He stated: "Free a slave." I submitted: By the One who sent you with the truth, I possess no slave other than my own neck — and I struck the side of my neck. He stated: "Then fast two consecutive months." I submitted: What befell me only happened because of fasting. He stated: "Then feed sixty poor persons a wasq of dates." I submitted: By the One who sent you with the truth, we spent the night hungry with no food. He stated: "Go to the collector of charity of Banu Zurayq and have him give it to you. Feed sixty poor persons a wasq of dates, and you and your family may eat the remainder." I returned to my people and said: I found nothing but hardship and bad counsel with you, while I found ease and good counsel with the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He has commanded that your charity be given to me. Ibn al-Ala' added: Ibn Idris said: Bayadah is a sub-clan of Banu Zurayq.
Urdu Translation
حضرت سلمہ بن صخر بیاضی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: میں ایسا شخص تھا جسے عورتوں سے جو تعلق ہوتا تھا وہ دوسروں کو نہیں ہوتا تھا۔ جب ماہِ رمضان شروع ہوا تو مجھے ڈر ہوا کہ کہیں میں اپنی بیوی سے ایسی بات نہ کر بیٹھوں جو مجھ سے برابر ہوتی رہے یہاں تک کہ صبح ہو جائے، اس لیے میں نے اپنی بیوی سے ظہار کر لیا یہاں تک کہ رمضان کا مہینہ گزر جائے۔ ایک رات وہ میری خدمت کر رہی تھی کہ اس کے بدن سے کچھ کھلا تو میں صبر نہ کر سکا اور اس سے صحبت کر لی۔ جب صبح ہوئی تو میں اپنی قوم کے پاس گیا اور واقعہ بتایا اور کہا: میرے ساتھ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس چلو۔ انہوں نے کہا: نہیں، اللہ کی قسم! تو میں خود نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور واقعہ عرض کیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: کیا تم نے واقعی ایسا کیا اے سلمہ؟ میں نے عرض کیا: ہاں یا رسول اللہ! دو بار عرض کیا۔ اور میں اللہ کے حکم پر صابر ہوں، آپ میرے بارے میں وہ فیصلہ فرمائیں جو اللہ نے آپ کو دکھایا ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: ایک گردن (غلام) آزاد کرو۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ مبعوث فرمایا! اپنی گردن کے سوا میرے پاس کوئی گردن نہیں ہے — اور اپنی گردن کے پہلو پر ہاتھ مارا۔ ارشاد فرمایا: دو مہینے لگاتار روزے رکھو۔ عرض کیا: مجھے جو پہنچا وہ روزے ہی کی وجہ سے تو پہنچا۔ ارشاد فرمایا: ساٹھ مسکینوں کو ایک وسق کھجوریں کھلاؤ۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ مبعوث فرمایا! ہم نے رات بھوکے گزاری ہے، ہمارے پاس کھانا نہیں ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: بنو زریق کے صدقات کے ذمہ دار کے پاس جاؤ، وہ تمہیں (صدقات) دے دے، تو ساٹھ مسکینوں کو ایک وسق کھجوریں کھلاؤ اور باقی تم اور تمہارے اہل و عیال کھا لو۔ میں اپنی قوم کے پاس لوٹا اور کہا: تمہارے پاس مجھے تنگی اور بری رائے ملی اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس فراخی اور اچھی رائے ملی۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مجھے تمہارے صدقات دینے کا حکم فرمایا ہے۔ ابن العلاء نے مزید بیان کیا: ابن ادریس نے کہا: بیاضہ بنو زریق کا ایک فرع ہے۔
