حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَعَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ تَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةَ . قَالَ فَأَتَيْنَا النَّاسَ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ يُصَلِّي بِهِمُ الصُّبْحَ فَلَمَّا رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَأَخَّرَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَمْضِيَ - قَالَ - فَصَلَّيْتُ أَنَا وَالنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَصَلَّى الرَّكْعَةَ الَّتِي سُبِقَ بِهَا وَلَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَيْهَا شَيْئًا . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ وَابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ وَابْنُ عُمَرَ يَقُولُونَ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ الْفَرْدَ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ عَلَيْهِ سَجْدَتَا السَّهْوِ .
English Translation
Hadrat Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) lagged behind (during a journey). He then related the same incident, saying: 'We came to the people and Hadrat Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf (may Allah be well pleased with him) was leading them in the dawn prayer. When he saw the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), he wished to step back, but he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) gestured to him to continue.' He said: 'I and the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) prayed one rak'ah behind him. When he uttered the salutation, the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood and completed the rak'ah he had missed, adding nothing more.' Abu Dawud states: Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, Hadrat Ibn al-Zubayr, and Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them) hold the view that whoever catches only an odd rak'ah with the imam must perform two prostrations of forgetfulness.
Urdu Translation
حضرت مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم (سفر میں لوگوں سے) پیچھے رہ گئے، پھر انہوں نے اسی واقعے کا ذکر کیا۔ فرماتے ہیں: ہم لوگوں کے پاس پہنچے تو حضرت عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ انہیں نمازِ صبح پڑھا رہے تھے۔ جب انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو دیکھا تو پیچھے ہٹنا چاہا، مگر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں نماز جاری رکھنے کا اشارہ فرمایا۔ فرماتے ہیں: تو میں نے اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان کے پیچھے ایک رکعت ادا کی، اور جب انہوں نے سلام پھیرا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے کھڑے ہو کر وہ رکعت پوری فرمائی جو رہ گئی تھی اور اس پر کوئی اضافہ نہیں فرمایا۔ حضرت ابوداؤد فرماتے ہیں: حضرت ابوسعید خدری، حضرت ابن حضرت زبیر اور حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم فرماتے ہیں: جو شخص نماز کی طاق رکعت (یعنی ایک رکعت) امام کے ساتھ پائے تو اس پر سہو کے دو سجدے ہیں۔
