الولد سر أبيه

"The child is the secret of his father."

أن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم أذن فى أذن الحسن بن على يوم ولد فأذن فى أذن اليمنى وأقام فى أذنه اليسرى

"On the day al-Hasan ibn Ali was born, the Prophet (peace be upon him) called the adhan in his right ear and the iqamah in his left ear."

من تسمى باسمى فلا يتكنى بكنيتى ومن اكتنى بكنيتى فلا يتسمى باسمى

"Whoever takes my name should not take my kunyah (patronymic), and whoever takes my kunyah should not take my name."

انكم تدعون يوم القيامة بأسمائكم وأسمائكم آبائكم فأحسنوا أسمائكم

"You will be called on the Day of Resurrection by your names and the names of your fathers, so choose good names."

الختان سنة للرجال مكرمة للنساء

"Circumcision is a sunnah for men and an honor for women."

أن الأقلف لا يترك فى الاسلام حتى يختتن ولو بلغ ثمانين سنة

"An uncircumcised man will not be tolerated in Islam until he is circumcised, even if he is eighty years old."

لا يحج بيت الله حتى يختتن

"An uncircumcised person cannot perform Hajj at the House of Allah until he gets circumcised."

ولد النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم مختونا

"The Prophet (peace be upon him) was born circumcised."

من أسلم فليختتن ولو كان كبيرا

"Whoever embraces Islam must be circumcised, even if he is old."

علموا بنيكم السباحة والرمى...

"Teach your sons swimming and archery."

لأن يؤدب الرجل ولده خير له من أن يتصدق بصاع

"It is better for a man to discipline his child than to give a sa' (approximately 2.5 kg) in charity."

ما نحل والد ولدا أفضل من أدب حسن

"No father has given his child a gift more excellent than good manners."

حق الولد على الوالد أن يحسن اسمه ويحسن أدبه

"It is the child's right upon his father to give him a good name and teach him good manners."

لا تضربوا أولادكم على بكائهم...

"Do not beat your children for crying."

من وضع يده على رأس يتيم ترحما كانت له بكل شعرة تمر عليها يده حسنة

"Whoever places his hand on the head of an orphan out of compassion, he earns a good deed for every hair his hand passes over."

شكا رجل قلة الولد فأمره أن يأكل البيض والبصل

"A man complained about having few children, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered him to eat eggs and onions."

أحبوا البنات فأنا أبو البنات

"Love your daughters, for I am also a father of daughters."

من انفق على تزويج ابنه أو ابنته درهما أعطاه الله بكل درهم اثنتى وعشرة مدينة فى الجنة

"Whoever spends a dirham on the marriage of his son or daughter, Allah will give him twelve cities in Paradise for every dirham."

النطفة التى يخلق منها الولد ترعدلها الأعضاء والعروق كلها

"The drop of semen from which a child is created causes all the limbs and veins to tremble."

قلة العيال أحد اليسارين وكثرته أحد الفقرين

"Having few dependents is one of two forms of ease, and having many dependents is one of two forms of poverty."
