It is narrated by Hadrat Al-'Ala bin 'Abdur-Rahman that from his father, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Whoever performs a Salat in which he does not recite Umm Al-Qur'an in it, then it is aborted, it is aborted, not complete." He Said: "I said: 'O Hadrat Abu Hurairah! Sometimes I am behind an Imam.' He said: 'O Ibn Al-Farisi! Then recite it to yourself. For indeed I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saying: Allah, the Most High said: "I have divided the Salat between Myself and My slaves into two halves. Half of it is for Me, and half of it for My slave, and My slave shall have what he asks for. My slave stands and says: All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of All that exists." So Allah, Blessed is He and Most High says: "My slave has expressed his gratitude to Me." He says: "The Merciful, the Beneficent. So he says: "My slave has praised Me." He says: Owner of the Day of Reckoning. He says: "My slave has glorified Me. And this is for Me, and between Me and My slave is: It is You alone whom we worship and it is You alone from whom we seek aid" until the end of the Surah "This is for My slave and My slave shall have what he asks for." So he says: Guide us to the straight path. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed your favor, not those with whom is Your wrath, now those who are astray."' [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan. (Other chains of narrations) (Another chain) from Hadrat Abu Hurairah that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Whoever performs a Salat in which he does not recite Umm AlQur'an in it, then it is aborted, [it is aborted,] then it is aborted, not complete." And in Ismã'il bin Abi Uwais' Hadith there is no more than this. I asked Abu Zur'ah about this Hadith, he said: "Both of the Hadith are Sahih." And he argued this with the narrations of Ibn Abi Uwais from his father from Al-'Ala
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”جس نے کوئی نماز پڑھی اور اس میں سورۃ فاتحہ نہ پڑھی تو وہ نماز ناقص ہے، وہ نماز ناقص ہے، نامکمل ہے ۱؎ عبدالرحمٰن کہتے ہیں: میں نے کہا: حضرت ابوہریرہ! میں کبھی امام کے پیچھے ہوتا ہوں؟ انہوں نے کہا: فارسی لڑکے! اسے اپنے جی میں ( دل ہی دل میں ) پڑھ لیا کرو ۲؎ کیونکہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے: میں نے نماز ۳؎ اپنے اور بندے کے درمیان دو حصوں میں بانٹ دی ہے۔ آدھی نماز میرے لیے ہے اور آدھی میرے بندے کے لیے، اور میرے بندے کے لیے وہ ہے جو مانگے۔ میرا بندہ پڑھتا ہے: «الحمد لله رب العالمين» تو اللہ کہتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری حمد یعنی تعریف کی۔ بندہ کہتا ہے: «الرحمن الرحيم» تو اللہ کہتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری ثنا کی، بندہ «مالك يوم الدين» کہتا ہے تو اللہ کہتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری عظمت اور بزرگی بیان کی اور عظمت اور بزرگی صرف میرے لیے ہے، اور میرے اور میرے بندے کے درمیان «إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين» سے لے کر سورۃ کی آخری آیات تک ہیں، اور بندے کے لیے وہ سب کچھ ہے جو وہ مانگے۔ بندہ کہتا ہے «اهدنا الصراط المستقيم صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين» ”ہمیں سیدھی اور سچی راہ دکھا، ان لوگوں کی راہ جن پر تو نے انعام کیا ان کی نہیں جن پر غضب کیا گیا اور نہ گمراہوں کی“ امام ترمذی فرماتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- شعبہ، اسماعیل بن جعفر اور کئی دوسرے رواۃ نے ایسی ہی حدیث علاء بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، علاء نے اپنے باپ سے اور ان کے باپ نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت کی ہے۔
