Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9462 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ كُنَّا إِذَا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللهِ نَجْلِسُ بَعْدَهُ فَنُثَبِّتُ النَّاسَ فِي الْقِرَاءَةِ فَإِذَا قُمْنَا صَلَّيْنَا فَبَلَغَهُ ذَلِكَ فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «أَتُحَمِّلُونَ النَّاسَ مَا لَا يُحَمَّلُوا يَرَوْنَكُمْ فَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهَا سُنَّةٌ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ فَفِي بُيُوتِكُمْ» قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيْضًا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Masruq said: 'When Abdullah left, we would sit after him, confirming people in their recitation. When we stood up, we would pray. When he heard about this, we went to him and he said: "Are you burdening people with what they are not burdened? They see you and think it is a sunnah. If you must do it, then do it in your homes."' Sulayman also narrated this from Amr ibn Murrah from Abu Ubaydah from Abdullah.
