Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:847 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ سَعْدٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَيْمَنَ وَهُوَ فَارٌّ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ «فَعَرَفْتُ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ» قَالَ سَعْدٌ فَقُلْتُ «مَا رَأَيْتُ خُطْبَةً أَبْعَدَ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ» ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمُ احْتَضَرُوا الْقِتَالَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَيْمَنَ أَعْتَكَ الْقَوْمَ فَأَعْجَبَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ لِأَيْمَنَ لَقَدْ حُدِّثْتُ أَنَّكَ لَا تَقُومُ بَيْنَ الصَّفَّيْنِ جُبْنًا فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَقُومَ مَقَامًا يُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنَّكَ لَخَلِيقٌ أَنْ تَفْعَلَ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Sa'd narrated: I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "I saw Ayman fleeing from the battle," and I recognized displeasure on the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Sa'd said: I said: "I have never seen a speech more distant from all good." Then they went to battle again, and Sa'd said: "I saw Ayman as the most steadfast of the people," and that pleased the Prophet (peace be upon him). Umar ibn al-Khattab said to Ayman: "I have been told that you do not stand between the two battle lines out of cowardice." He said: "I hope to stand in a position that Allah and His Messenger love." Umar said: "You are indeed worthy of doing so."
