Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:826 حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سَرِيعٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً فَبَلَغَ مِنْ قَتْلِهِمْ أَنْ قَتَلُوا الذُّرِّيَّةَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ بَلَغَ مِنْ قَتْلِهِمْ أَنْ قَتَلُوا الذُّرِّيَّةَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ» فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً بَعْدَهَا فَقَالَ «أَوَلَيْسَ خِيَارُكُمْ أَوْلَادَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا مَوْلُودٌ يُولَدُ إِلَّا عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ أَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Al-Aswad ibn Sari' narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent a military expedition, and they went so far in killing that they killed the children of the polytheists. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) heard of this, he said: "What is wrong with people that they went so far in killing that they killed the children of the polytheists?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah..." and mentioned something. He said: "Are not the best among you the children of polytheists? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, no child is born except upon the fitrah (natural disposition) until his parents make him a Jew or a Christian."
