Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8434a حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءَ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ خُمَيْرِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ لَمَّا أُمِرَ بِالْمَصَاحِفِ تُغَيَّرُ سَاءَ ذَلِكَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ «§مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَغُلَّ مُصْحَفًا فَلْيَفْعَلْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ غَلَّ شَيْئًا جَاءَ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
When the order was given to alter the copies of the Quran (to standardize them), this displeased 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, and he said: "Whoever among you is able to conceal a copy of the Quran, let him do so, for whoever conceals something will come with what he concealed on the Day of Resurrection."
