Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:5667 حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ فِي جُحْرٍ فِي بَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَمَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِدْرًى يَحُكُّ بِهِ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْتَظِرُنِي لَطَعَنْتُ بِهِ فِي عَيْنِكَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ السِّتْرُ لِلْإِذْنِ» أَوْ قَالَ «مِنْ أَجْلِ النَّظَرِ»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Sahl ibn Sa'd narrated that a man peeked through a hole in the door of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Prophet had a comb with which he was scratching his head. The Prophet said: "If I had known you were watching me, I would have thrust it into your eye. The curtain was only made for seeking permission" — or he said: "because of the gaze."
