الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a military expedition and they captured spoils. Among them was a man who said to them: 'I am not one of them. I fell in love with a woman and followed her. Let me look at her, then do with me as you please.' There was a tall, dark-complexioned woman. He said to her: 'Accept Islam, Hubaysh, before life runs out. Do you see — if I had followed you and caught up with you at Hilyah, or reached you at al-Khawaniq, would it not have been right for a lover to be granted his wish, one who endured the hardship of traveling by night and the scorching heat?' She said: 'Yes, may I be sacrificed for you.' They brought him forward and struck his neck. The woman came and fell upon him, gasping one or two gasps, then died. When they came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and told him the story, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Was there not among you a merciful man?'
