Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11640 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ النَّسَائِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ أَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْقَزِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ عَجِبْتُ لصبرِ أَخِي يُوسُفَ وكَرَمِهِ وَاللهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ حَيْثُ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ليُسْتَفْتَى فِي الرُّؤْيَا وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أَنَا لَمْ أَفْعَلْ حَتَّى أَخْرُجَ وعَجِبْتُ لصَبْرِهِ وكَرَمِهِ وَاللهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ أُتِي لِيَخْرُجَ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ حَتَّى أَخْبَرَهُمْ بِعُذْرِهِ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أَنَا لبادرتُ الْبَابَ وَلَوْلَا الْكَلِمَةُ لَمَا لَبِثَ فِي السِّجْنِ حَيْثُ يَبْتَغِي الْفَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَيْرِ اللهِ قَوْلُهُ {اذْكُرْنِي عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ}
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Abbas narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) who said: 'I am amazed at the patience and nobility of my brother Yusuf — and may Allah forgive him — when he was sent for to be consulted about the dream. Had I been in his place, I would not have done so until I was released. I am amazed at his patience and nobility — and may Allah forgive him — when they came to release him, he would not leave until he told them of his innocence. Had I been in his place, I would have rushed to the door. And were it not for the word [he said], he would not have remained in prison, when he sought relief from other than Allah, meaning his saying: Mention me to your master.'
