Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11586 حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ اسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قُرَيْشٌ فِي الْعَتِيرَةِ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَعْتِرُ فِي رَجَبٍ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَعِتْرٌ كَعِتْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَلَكِنْ مَنْ أَحَبَّ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَذْبَحَ لِلَّهِ فَيَأْكُلَ وَيَتَصَدَّقَ فَلْيَفْعَلْ» وَكَانَ عِتْرُهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ يَذْبَحُونَ ثُمَّ يَعْمِدُونَ إِلَى دِمَاءِ ذَبَائِحِهِمْ فَيَمْسَحُونَ بِهَا رُءُوسَ نُصُبِهمْ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Abbas narrated that the Quraysh asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the atirah [a pre-Islamic sacrifice]. They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall we sacrifice in Rajab?' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to them: 'A sacrifice like the sacrifice of the pre-Islamic era? Rather, whoever among you wishes to slaughter for Allah, let him eat from it and give charity.' Their practice had been to slaughter and then smear the blood of their sacrifices on the heads of their idols.
