Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10701 حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالُوا ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ فَيَّاضٍ عَنْ خَلَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَخَطَا النَّاسَ حَتَّى قَرُبَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَقِمْ عَلَيَّ الْحَدَّ فَقَالَ «اجْلِسْ» فَجَلَسَ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَقِمْ عَلَيَّ الْحَدَّ فَقَالَ «اجْلِسْ» فَجَلَسَ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَقِمْ عَلَيَّ الْحَدَّ قَالَ «وَمَا حَدُّكَ؟» قَالَ أَتَيْتُ امْرَأَةً حَرَامًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِرِجَالٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِيهِمْ عَلِيٌّ وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ «انْطَلِقُوا فَاجْلِدُوهُ مِائَةً» وَلَمْ يَكُنْ تَزَوَّجَ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا نَجْلِدُ الَّتِي خَبَثَ بِهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ائْتُونِي بِهِ» فَلَمَّا أُتِيَ بِهِ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَاحِبَتُكَ؟» قَالَ فُلَانَةُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَدَعَاهَا فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَتْ كَذَبَ وَاللهِ مَا أَعْرِفُهُ وَإِنِّي مِمَّا قَالَ لَبَرِيئَةٌ اللهُ عَلَى مَا أَقُولُ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ شَاهِدُكَ عَلَى أَنَّكَ أَخْبَثْتَ بِهَا؛ فَإِنَّهَا تُنْكِرُ أَنْ تَكُونَ أَخْبَثْتَ بِهَا فَإِنْ كَانَ لَكَ شَاهِدٌ جَلَدْتُهَا وَإِلَّا جَلَدْتُكَ حَدَّ الْفِرْيَةِ» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا لِي شَاهِدٌ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَجُلِدَ حَدَّ الْفِرْيَةِ ثَمَانِينَ

Ibn Abbas narrated: While the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was delivering the Friday sermon, a man came and stepped over people until he drew near to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, carry out the prescribed punishment on me.' He said: 'Sit down.' So he sat. Then he stood a second time and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, carry out the prescribed punishment on me.' He said: 'Sit down.' So he sat. Then he stood a third time and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, carry out the prescribed punishment on me.' He said: 'What is your punishment?' He said: 'I committed an unlawful act with a woman.' So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to some of his companions, among whom were Ali, Ibn Abbas, Zayd ibn Harithah, and Uthman ibn Affan: 'Go and flog him one hundred lashes' — for he had not been married. It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall we not flog the woman he committed the act with?' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Bring him to me.' When he was brought, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked him: 'Who is the woman?' He said: 'So-and-so.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) sent for her and asked her about it. She said: 'He lies! By Allah, I do not know him, and I am innocent of what he says. Allah is witness to what I say.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Who is your witness that you committed this act with her? For she denies it. If you have a witness, I will flog her; otherwise, I will flog you the punishment for slander.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have no witness.' So he ordered that he be flogged the punishment for slander — eighty lashes.
