نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ عُرْوَةُ مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ فِي الإِحْدَادِ، لَقَدْ سَأَلَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ تَلْبَسُ خِمَارًا بِبَقَّمٍ وَهِيَ حَادَّةٌ؟ فَقَالَ: لا، فَقَالَتْ: لا وَاللَّهِ مَا لِي غَيْرُهُ، فَقَالَ:" اصْبَغِيهِ إِذًا بِسَوَادٍ"، وَقَالَ عُرْوَةُ:" السُّنَّةُ فِي الإِحْدَادِ أَنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ لا يَحِلُّ لَهَا أَنْ تُحِدَّ فَوْقَ ثَلاثٍ، فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الرَّابِعِ أُمِرَتْ أَنْ يَمَسَّ دِرْعَهَا الصُّفْرَةُ أَوِ الزَّعْفَرَانُ، إِنِ الْمَرْأَةُ حَادَّةٌ عَلَى زَوْجِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لا تَمَسُّ شَيْئًا حَتَّى يَنْقَضِيَ أَجَلُهَا".
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Urwah was one of the strictest of people regarding mourning (ihdad). A woman asked him if she could wear a headscarf dyed with bakkam while in mourning. He said: "No." She said: "By Allah, I have no other." He said: "Then dye it black." Urwah said: "The Sunnah regarding mourning is that a woman should not mourn beyond three days. On the fourth day, she is told to apply some yellow or saffron to her garment. But if the woman is mourning her husband, she shall not touch anything until her waiting period ends."
