وعن أبي قتادة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سئل عن صيام يوم عاشوراء فقال: "يكفر السنة الماضية" ((رواه مسلم)).
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was asked about observing As-Saum (the fast) on the tenth day of Muharram, and he replied, "It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year.".
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عاشوراء کے روزے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو ارشاد فرمایا: 'یہ پچھلے سال کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہے۔'
