وعنه قال: قلت يا رسول الله ألا تستعملني؟ فضرب بيده على منكبي ثم قال: “يا أبا ذر إنك ضعيف، وإنها أمانة، وإنها يوم القيامة خزي وندامة، إلا من أخذها بحقها، وأدى الذى عليه فيها” ((رواه مسلم)).
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that I said to Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): "Why do you not appoint me to an (official) position?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) patted me on the shoulder with his hand and said, "O Hadrat Abu Dharr, you are a weak man and it is a trust and it will be a cause of disgrace and remorse on the Day of Resurrection except for the one who takes it up with a full sense of responsibility and fulfills what is entrusted to him (discharges its obligations efficiently).".
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابو ذر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ مجھے کسی عہدے پر کیوں نہیں لگاتے؟ آپ نے اپنا ہاتھ میرے کندھے پر رکھا اور فرمایا: اے حضرت ابو ذر! تم کمزور ہو اور یہ ایک امانت ہے، اور یہ قیامت کے دن رسوائی اور ندامت ہے، سوائے اس شخص کے جس نے اسے حق کے ساتھ لیا اور اس میں اپنی ذمہ داری پوری کی۔ (مسلم)
