وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: لما خلق الله تعالى آدم عليه السلام قال: اذهب فسلم على أولئك -نفر من الملائكة جلوس- فاستمع ما يحيونك، فإنه تحيتك وتحية ذريتك. فقال: السلام عليكم فقالوا: السلام عليك ورحمة الله، فزادوه: ورحمة الله" ((متفق عليه)).
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported:the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "When Allah created Adam (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), He said to him: 'Go and greet that company of angels who are sitting there - and then listen to what they are going to say in reply to your greetings because that will be your greeting and your off-spring's.' Adam (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to the angels: 'As-Salamu 'Alaikum (May peace be upon you).' They replied: 'As-Salamu 'Alaikum wa Rahmatullah (May peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allah).' Thus adding in reply to him: 'wa Rahmatullah (and the Mercy of Allah)' to his greeting.".
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے حضرت آدم علیہ السلام کو پیدا فرمایا تو ارشاد فرمایا: جاؤ اور ان فرشتوں کے اس گروہ کو سلام کرو جو بیٹھے ہیں اور سنو وہ کیا جواب دیتے ہیں، وہی تمہارا اور تمہاری اولاد کا سلام ہوگا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: السلام علیکم۔ فرشتوں نے جواب دیا: السلام علیکم ورحمۃ اللہ۔ انہوں نے ورحمۃ اللہ بڑھا دیا۔ (متفق علیہ)
