Abdullah bin as-Sa'ib says: We went to Abdullah bin Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him about sharecropping (muzara'ah). He said: Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade sharecropping and commanded leasing (mu'ajarah) (that is, renting out for money and gold coin) and said that there is no harm in it. الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن سائب کہتے ہیں کہہم سیدنا عبداللہ بن معقل رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس گئے اور ان سے مزارعت (بٹائی) کے بارے میں پوچھا، تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مزارعت سے منع کیا اور مؤاجرۃ کا (یعنی روپے اشرفی پر کرایہ چلانے کا) حکم فرمایا اور فرمایا کہ اس میں کوئی قباحت نہیں ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 975]
