Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to the two who perform li'an: "Your reckoning is with Allah the Exalted, and one of you is a liar." He (peace be upon him) said to the husband: "You now have no authority over the woman, for she is separated from you forever." The man said: O Messenger of Allah! My wealth, which she took? He (peace be upon him) said: "You will not get the wealth back. For if you are truthful, it is compensation for her private part having become lawful to you; and if you are a liar, then the wealth is even further from you (i.e., you bear the burden of the lie as well)." الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے لعان کرنے والوں کو فرمایا کہ تم دونوں کا حساب اللہ تعالیٰ پر ہے اور تم میں سے ایک جھوٹا ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے خاوند سے فرمایا کہ اب تیرا عورت پر کوئی بس نہیں کیونکہ وہ تجھ سے ہمیشہ کے لئے جدا ہو گئی۔ مرد بولا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میرا مال، جو اس نے لیا ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ مال تجھے نہیں ملے گا کیونکہ اگر تو سچا ہے تو اس مال کا بدلہ ہے جو اس کی شرمگاہ تجھ پر حلال ہو گئی اور اگر تو جھوٹا ہے تو مال اور دور ہو گیا (یعنی بلکہ تیرے اوپر جھوٹ کا اور وبال ہوا)[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 868]
