Narrated Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of al-Mahri: He came to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) during the nights of the Harra (that is, in the days when a certain calamity became notorious in Medina the Pure, and the oppressors plundered Medina) and consulted him about going away somewhere from Medina, and complained to him of the high prices (inflation) there and the largeness of his family, and told him that he could not endure Medina's toil and hunger. So Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Woe to you; I will not advise you to do that, (because) I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying, 'No one endures its hardships and then dies but that I will be his intercessor or witness on the Day of Resurrection, if he was a Muslim.'"
الترجمة الأردية
ابوسعید مولیٰ مہری سے روایت ہے کہوہ سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس حرہ کی راتوں میں آئے (یعنی جن دنوں مدینہ طیبہ میں ایک فتنہ مشہور ہوا تھا اور ظالموں نے مدینہ کو لوٹا تھا) اور ان سے مشورہ کیا کہ مدینہ سے کہیں اور چلے جائیں اور ان سے وہاں کی گرانی نرخ (مہنگائی) اور کثرت عیال کی شکایت کی اور خبر دی کہ مجھے مدینہ کی محنت اور بھوک پر صبر نہیں آ سکتا تو سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ تیری خرابی ہو میں تجھے اس کا مشورہ نہیں دوں گا (کیونکہ) میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا ہے کہ وہ فرماتے تھے کہ کوئی شخص یہاں کی تکلیفوں پر صبر نہیں کرتا اور پھر مر جاتا ہے، مگر یہ کہ میں قیامت کے دن اس کا شفیع یا گواہ ہوں گا اگر وہ مسلمان ہو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 779]
