Narrated Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the Farewell Pilgrimage, and some entered ihram for Umrah and some for Hajj. When we came to Makkah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever has entered ihram for Umrah and has not brought a sacrifice should come out of ihram; whoever has entered ihram for Umrah and has brought a sacrifice should not come out until he has sacrificed; and whoever has entered ihram for Hajj should complete his Hajj." Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), said, "I began menstruating and remained menstruating until the day of Arafah, and I had entered ihram only for Umrah. So he (peace be upon him) commanded me to leave the Umrah and enter ihram for Hajj." She said, "So I did so. When we had completed the Hajj, he sent Abd al-Rahman (ibn Abi Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him) with me so that I might perform, from al-Tanim (entering ihram there), the Umrah which I had not completed, and for whose ihram I had entered ihram for Hajj before releasing it."

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہانہوں نے کہا کہ ہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ حجۃ الوداع میں نکلے اور کسی نے عمرہ کا اور کسی نے حج کا احرام باندھا۔ جب مکہ آئے تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جس نے عمرہ کا احرام باندھا ہے اور قربانی نہیں لایا، وہ احرام کھول ڈالے اور جس نے عمرہ کا احرام باندھا اور قربانی لایا ہے، وہ نہ کھولے جب تک قربانی ذبح نہ کر لے اور جس نے حج کا احرام باندھا ہے وہ حج پورا کرے۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ میں حائضہ ہو گئی اور عرفہ کے دن تک حائضہ رہی۔ اور میں صرف نے عمرہ کا احرام باندھا تھا، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھے عمرہ چھوڑ کر حج کا احرام باندھنے کا حکم دیا۔ کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے ایسا ہی کیا۔ جب حج کر چکے تو میرے ساتھ عبدالرحمن (بن ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہ) کو بھیجا کہ میں تنعیم سے (احرام باندھ کر) عمرہ کر آؤں، وہ عمرہ جس کو میں نے پورا نہیں کیا تھا اور اس کا احرام کھولنے سے قبل حج کا احرام باندھ لیا تھا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 675]
