Narrated 'Abd Allah ibn Shaqiq (may Allah be pleased with him): I said to the Mother of the Believers 'A'ishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) fast all the days of any month? She said: I do not know that he (peace be upon him) fasted a complete month other than Ramadan, nor did he leave any whole month without fasting; rather he would definitely fast some days of every month, until he (peace be upon him) departed from this world (may the peace and mercy of Allah, the Exalted, be upon him).
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن شقیق رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے عرض کیا کہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکسی ماہ کے پورے دنوں کے روزے رکھتے تھے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نہیں جانتی کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے رمضان کے سوا کسی مہینہ کے پورے روزے رکھے ہوں اور نہ کوئی پورا مہینہ افطار کیا بلکہ ہر مہینہ میں سے کچھ نہ کچھ روزے ضرور رکھتے تھے یہاں تک کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمدنیا سے تشریف لے گئے (اللہ تعالیٰ کا سلام اور رحمت ان پر)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 608]
