Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): Some men of the Ansar asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for something, and he (peace be upon him) gave them. They asked again, and he (peace be upon him) gave them again, until when whatever he (peace be upon him) had was exhausted, he (peace be upon him) said: "Whatever wealth I have, I never withhold it from you. And whoever abstains from asking, Allah, the Exalted, keeps him abstinent; and whoever seeks to be self-sufficient in heart, Allah, the Exalted, makes him self-sufficient; and whoever habituates himself to patience, Allah, the Exalted, makes patience easy for him. And no gift from Allah is better and more comprehensive than patience."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہانصار کے چند لوگوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے کچھ مانگا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے انہیں دیا۔ انہوں نے پھر مانگا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پھر دیا یہاں تک کہ جو کچھ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس تھا، جب ختم ہو گیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: میرے پاس جو مال ہوتا ہے تو میں تم سے بچا کر نہیں رکھتا۔ اور جو شخص سوال سے بچے اللہ تعالیٰ اسے بچاتا ہے اور جو اپنے دل کو مستغنی بےپرواہ رکھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو مستغنی (بےپرواہ) کر دیتا ہے۔ اور جو صبر کی عادت ڈالے، اللہ تعالیٰ اس پر صبر آسان کر دیتا ہے۔ اور کوئی عطائے الٰہی صبر سے زیادہ بہتر اور کشادگی والی نہیں ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 555]
