Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) combined the Zuhr and Asr, and the Maghrib and Isha, in Madinah without fear and without rain. In the narration of Waki' it is: I said to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Why did he do that? He said: So that his ummah would not be put to hardship. And in the hadith of Abu Mu'awiyah it is: Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked with what intention he did this. He said: He did it with the intention that his ummah would not be distressed. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 439]

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ظہر اور عصر کو اور مغرب اور عشاء کو مدینہ میں بغیر خوف اور بارش کے جمع کیا۔ وکیع کی روایت میں ہے کہ میں نے سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے یہ کیوں کیا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ تاکہ آپ کی امت کو حرج نہ ہو۔ اور ابومعاویہ کی حدیث میں ہے کہ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہا گیا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کس ارادہ سے یہ کیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اس ارادہ سے کیا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی امت پر تکلیف نہ ہو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 439]
