Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The fornicator does not commit fornication while he is a believer at the time of committing it; the thief does not steal while he is a believer at the time of stealing; and the drinker does not drink wine while he is a believer at the time of drinking it." Abu Hurayrah used to add: "And no one plunders something of value that people raise their eyes toward while he is a believer at the time of plundering." In another narration: "Nor does one commit a breach of trust while he is a believer at the time of committing it."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: زنا کرنے والا زنا نہیں کرتا مگر یہ کہ عین زنا کرتے وقت وہ مومن نہیں رہتا اور نہ ہی چور عین چوری کرتے وقت مومن رہتا ہے اور نہ شراب پینے والا عین شراب پیتے وقت مومن رہتا ہے۔ اور سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ اس میں اتنا اور ملا دیتے تھے کہ نہ لوٹنے والا شخص، ایسی لوٹ جو بڑی چیز ہو (یعنی حقیر چیز نہ ہو) جس کی طرف لوگوں کی نظر اٹھے تو وہ بھی عین لوٹتے وقت مومن نہیں ہوتا۔ اور ہمام کی روایت میں ((یرفع الیہ المؤمنون اعینھم)) کی جگہ ((وھو حین ینتھبھا مؤمن)) کے الفاظ ہیں۔ اور ایک روایت میں ہے کہ خیانت کرتے وقت (بھی بندہ) مومن نہیں ہوتا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 43]
