It is narrated from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah that Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Abu Waqid al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him): What did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) recite in the (Eid al-Adha) sacrifice prayer and the (Eid al-Fitr) breaking-of-fast prayer? He said: In them he used to recite "Qaf. By the glorious Qur'an" and "The Hour has drawn near and the moon has split." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 429]
الترجمة الأردية
عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ سے روایت ہے کہسیدنا عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے سیدنا ابوواقد لیثی رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم(عیدالاضحی) اضحی اور (عیدالفطر) فطر میں کیا پڑھتے تھے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمان میں ((ق ٓ والقرآن المجید)) اور ((اقتربت السّاعۃ وانشقّ القمر)) پڑھا کرتے تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 429]
