Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): A man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the night prayer, and he said: "The night prayer is two rak'ahs at a time. Then when one thinks that dawn is approaching, let him pray one rak'ah, for that (one rak'ah) will make odd (Witr) all the prayer that he has prayed." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 383]
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہایک شخص نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے رات کی نماز کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے۔ پھر جب خیال ہو کہ صبح ہو چلی تو ایک رکعت پڑھ لے کہ وہ (ایک رکعت) اس ساری نماز کو جو اس نے پڑھی، وتر کر دے گی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 383]
