الترجمة الإنجليزية
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that some hypocrites in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) were such that when he (peace be upon him) went out to battle, they would stay behind and rejoice at sitting at home behind the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then when he (peace be upon him) returned, they would make excuses to him (peace be upon him) and swear oaths, and wish for people to praise them for deeds they had not done. Then Allah revealed this verse: "Do not think that those who rejoice in what they have done and love to be praised for what they have not done — do not think that they will escape the punishment; for them is a painful torment."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہکچھ منافق رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے عہد مبارک میں ایسے تھے کہ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلملڑائی پر جاتے تو وہ پیچھے رہ جاتے اور نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پیچھے گھر میں بیٹھنے سے خوش ہوتے۔ پھر جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلملوٹ کر آتے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے عذر کرتے اور قسم کھاتے اور چاہتے کہ لوگ ان کی ان کاموں پر تعریف کریں جو انہوں نے نہیں کئے۔ تب اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت اتاری کہ”مت گمان کرو ان لوگوں کو جو اپنے کئے سے خوش ہوتے ہیں اور چاہتے ہیں کہ ان کی ایسے کاموں پر تعریف کی جائے جو انہوں نے نہیں کئے، پس ان کے بارہ میں یہ گمان ہرگز نہ کرو کہ یہ عذاب سے چھٹکارا پائیں گے ان کو دکھ کی مار ہے“۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2127]
