Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The Children of Israel were told: "Enter the gate (of Bayt al-Maqdis) bowing, and say: (We seek) forgiveness of sins — your sins will be forgiven." But the Children of Israel did contrary to the command, and they came into the gate crawling on their backsides and saying: "A grain in an ear (of corn)" (i.e., we want wheat).
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ بنی اسرائیل سے کہا گیا تھا کہ تم (بیت المقدس کے) دروازہ میں رکوع کرتے ہوئے جاؤ اور کہو”گناہوں کی بخشش (چاہتے ہیں) تمہارے گناہ بخش دیئے جائیں گے“لیکن بنی اسرائیل نے حکم کے خلاف کیا اور وہ دروازہ میں سرین کے بل گھسٹتے ہوئے آئے اور کہنے لگے کہ”بالی میں دانہ“(یعنی ہمیں گندم چاہئے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2123]
