Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) never omitted the two rak'ahs after Asr. The narrator says that Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do not make it a habit especially to pray your prayers at the times of sunrise and sunset, praying always at those times" (that is, do not delay Fajr and Asr, but pray them early in their time).

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے عصر کے بعد کی دو رکعتیں کبھی نہیں چھوڑیں۔ راوی کہتا ہے کہ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: خاص کر اپنی نمازوں کو طلوع اور غروب آفتاب کے وقت پڑھنے کی عادت مت کرو کہ ہمیشہ اسی وقت ادا کیا کرو۔ (یعنی فجر اور عصر تاخیر سے نہیں بلکہ اول وقت میں پڑھو)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 210]
