It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) awoke from sleep saying, "There is no god but Allah. Woe to the Arabs from an evil that is near! Today so much of the barrier of Gog and Magog has been opened." And (the narrator) Sufyan made the figure of ten (that is, he formed a ring with his thumb and forefinger). I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall we be destroyed even while there are righteous people among us?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Yes, when evil abounds (that is, immorality and depravity, or adultery, or offspring of adultery, or sins)."
الترجمة الأردية
ام المؤمنین زینب بنت جحش رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنیند سے اس حال میں بیدار ہوئے کہ آپ فرما رہے تھے ((لا الٰہ الا اللہ))، خرابی ہے عرب کی اس آفت سے جو نزدیک ہے آج یاجوج اور ماجوج کی آڑ اتنی کھل گئی اور (راوی حدیث) سفیان نے دس کا ہندسہ بنایا (یعنی انگوٹھے اور کلمہ کی انگلی سے حلقہ بنایا) میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! کیا ہم اس حال میں بھی تباہ ہو جائیں گے جبکہ ہم میں نیک لوگ موجود ہوں گے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہاں! جب برائی زیادہ ہو گی (یعنی فسق و فجور یا زنا یا اولاد زنا یا معاصی)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1987]
