It is narrated from 'Iyad ibn Himar al-Mujashi'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said one day in a sermon: "Be aware, my Lord has commanded me to teach you the things you do not know, which Allah the Exalted has taught me. Whatever wealth I give to My servant is lawful for him (that is, whatever is not forbidden by the Law is lawful, though people may have forbidden it, such as the horse, the zebra, the lizard, the shark fish, and so on). And I created all My servants as Muslims (or free of sins, or upon uprightness and the capacity for guidance; and some said it refers to the covenant taken before coming into the world). Then the devils came to them and turned them away from their religion (or barred them from their religion), and forbade them the things I had made lawful for them, and commanded them to associate partners with Me for which I had sent down no proof. And indeed Allah the Exalted looked upon the people of the earth, and He detested them all, Arab and non-Arab alike, except a few among the People of the Book who remained (upon the true religion). (That is, the majority of Arabs and non-Arabs, except a few among the followers of Jesus, peace be upon him, who were monotheists, were associating partners with Allah the Exalted, so He detested them.) And Allah the Exalted said: 'I have sent you only to test you (in patience, steadfastness, and the harm of the disbelievers), and to test those to whom I sent you (as to who among them accepts faith, who remains a disbeliever, and who is a hypocrite). And I have sent down upon you a Book which water cannot wash away (for that Book is not written merely on paper but engraved upon the breasts), which you read whether asleep or awake.' And Allah commanded me to burn (that is, to convey the truth forcefully to) the people of Quraysh. I said, 'O my Lord! They will break my head and make it like bread; they will tear it to pieces.' Allah the Exalted said: 'Drive them out as they drove you out, and wage war against them; We will help you. And spend, and We will soon spend upon you (that is, spend in the way of Allah, and Allah will give you). And send forth an army, and We will send five armies like it (of angels). And with those who obey you, fight those who disobey you.' He said: The people of Paradise are three: one who holds authority and does justice, is truthful and granted success in righteous deeds; the second, one who is kind and tender-hearted toward every relative and Muslim; the third, one who is chaste, or who does not beg, and has children. And the people of the Fire are five: one is the weak one who has no discernment (to keep himself from evil), who are followers among you, wanting neither household nor wealth (that is, utterly careless, having no concern for lawful or unlawful; today even the so-called wealthy and rulers are included among them). The second is the thief who, when even a trifling thing is exposed to him, steals it. The third is the man who, morning and evening, deceives you concerning your family and your wealth. الترجمة الأردية

سیدنا عیاض بن حمار مجاشعی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک دن خطبہ میں فرمایا کہ آگاہ رہو کہ میرے رب نے مجھے حکم کیا ہے کہ تمہیں وہ باتیں سکھلاؤں جو تمہیں معلوم نہیں ہیں اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے بتائی ہیں۔ جو مال اپنے بندے کو دوں وہ اس کے لئے حلال ہے (یعنی جو شرع کی رو سے حرام نہیں ہے وہ حلال ہے، لیکن لوگوں نے اس کو حرام کر رکھا ہو جیسے گھوڑا، زیبرا، گوہ، شارک مچھلی وغیرہ) اور میں نے اپنے سب بندوں کو مسلمان پیدا کیا ہے (یا گناہوں سے پاک یا استقامت پر اور ہدایت کی قابلیت پر اور بعضوں نے کہا کہ مراد وہ عہد ہے جو دنیا میں آنے سے پہلے لیا تھا) پھر ان کے پاس شیطان آئے اور ان کو ان کے دین سے ہٹا دیا (یا ان کے دین سے روک دیا) اور جو چیزیں میں نے ان کے لئے حلال کی تھیں، وہ حرام کیں اور ان کو میرے ساتھ شرک کرنے کا حکم کیا جس کی میں نے کوئی دلیل نہیں اتاری۔ اور بیشک اللہ تعالیٰ نے زمین والوں کو دیکھا، پھر کیا عرب کیا عجم سب کو برا سمجھا سوائے ان چند لوگوں کے جو اہل کتاب میں سے (دین حق پر) باقی تھے۔ (یعنی عرب و عجم کی اکثریت سوائے چند لوگوں کے جو عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پیروکارؤں میں سے توحید پرست تھے، باقی اللہ تعالیٰ کے ساتھ شرک کرنے والے تھے، اس لئے برا سمجھا) اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ میں نے تجھے اس لئے بھیجا کہ تجھے آزماؤں (صبر اور استقامت اور کافروں کی ایذا پر) اور ان لوگوں کو آزماؤں جن کے پاس تمہیں بھیجا (کہ ان میں سے کون ایمان قبول کرتا ہے، کون کافر رہتا ہے اور کون منافق) اور میں نے تجھ پر ایسی کتاب اتاری جس کو پانی نہیں دھوتا (کیونکہ وہ کتاب صرف کاغذ پر نہیں لکھی بلکہ سینوں پر نقش ہے)، تو اس کو سوتے جاگتے میں پڑھتا ہے اور اللہ نے مجھے قریش کے لوگوں کو جلا دینے کا حکم کیا (یعنی شدت سے حق سنانے کا) میں نے عرض کیا کہ اے رب!
