Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When the adhan is called, the devil turns his back and flees, breaking wind, so that he does not hear the adhan; and after the adhan he returns. And when the iqamah is said, he flees again, and after the iqamah he comes back again and casts whisperings into a person's heart, and reminds him of things which had not even been in his mind before the prayer. The result of this is that the worshipper does not even remember how many rak'ahs he has prayed."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: جب اذان ہوتی ہے تو شیطان پیٹھ موڑ کے گوز (یعنی پاد) مارتا ہوا بھاگ جاتا ہے تاکہ اذان نہ سن سکے اور اذان کے بعد پھر لوٹ آتا ہے اور جب تکبیر (اقامت) کہی جاتی ہے تو پھر بھاگ کھڑا ہوتا ہے اور تکبیر (اقامت) کے بعد پھر واپس آ جاتا ہے اور آدمی کے دل میں وسوسے ڈالتا ہے اور اس کو وہ وہ باتیں یاد دلاتا ہے جو نماز سے پہلے اس شخص کے خیال میں بھی نہ تھیں۔ جس کا نتیجہ یہ نکلتا ہے کہ نمازی کو یاد ہی نہیں رہتا کہ اس نے کتنی رکعات پڑھی ہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 196]
