Musa al-Juhani narrates from Mus'ab bin Sa'd, from his father Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: A bedouin man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said, "Teach me some words that I may say." He (peace be upon him) said: "Say: 'La ilaha illa Allah (There is no god except Allah) ...' to the end of the supplication." The bedouin said, "These words are praise of my Lord; tell me something for myself." So he (peace be upon him) said: "Say: 'Allahumma-ghfir li (O Allah, forgive me) ...' to the end." (The narrator) Musa said: "The word 'wa 'afini' (and grant me well-being) comes to my mind, but I do not remember whether it is established from him (peace be upon him) or not."
الترجمة الأردية
موسیٰ جہنی، مصعب بن سعد سے روایت کرتے ہیں اور وہ اپنے والد سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہانہوں نے کہا کہ ایک دیہاتی آدمی رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور کہا کہ مجھے کوئی ایسا کلام بتائیے جسے میں کہا کروں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ کہا کر کہ”لا الٰہ الا اللہ ........ آخر دعا تک“تو وہ دیہاتی بولا کہ ان کلموں میں تو میرے مالک کی تعریف ہے، میرے لئے بتائیے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کہا کر کہ”اللھم اغفرلی ........ آخر تک“۔ (راوی حدیث) موسیٰ نے کہا کہ لفظ”عافنی“کا مجھے خیال آتا ہے لیکن یاد نہیں ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ثابت ہے یا نہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1906]
