Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Hold fast to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps speaking the truth until he is recorded as truthful in the sight of Allah, the Exalted. And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to Hell. And a man keeps telling lies until he is recorded as a liar in the sight of Allah, the Exalted."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: تم سچ کو لازم کر لو کیونکہ سچ نیکی کی طرف راہ دکھاتا ہے اور نیکی جنت کو لے جاتی ہے اور آدمی سچ بولتا رہتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک سچا لکھ لیا جاتا ہے۔ اور جھوٹ سے بچو کیونکہ جھوٹ برائی کی طرف راہ دکھاتا ہے اور برائی جہنم کو لے جاتی ہے اور آدمی جھوٹ بولتا رہتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک جھوٹا لکھ لیا جاتا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1809]
