Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): I was lying with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) under a sheet when suddenly I began menstruating. I slipped away and took up my menstrual clothes. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Have you begun menstruating?" I said: "Yes." He called me, and then I lay with him under the same sheet. The narrator of the hadith (Zaynab) said: Umm al-Mu'minin Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) both used to bathe for major ritual impurity (janabah) from a single vessel.

ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہمیں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ چادر میں لیٹی ہوئی تھی کہ اچانک میں حائضہ ہو گئی۔ میں کھسک گئی اور اپنے حیض کے کپڑے اٹھا لئے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کیا تجھے حیض آیا؟ میں نے کہا کہ ہاں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھے بلایا، پھر میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ اسی چادر میں لیٹی۔ راویہ حدیث (زینب) نے کہا کہ ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمدونوں ایک ہی برتن سے غسل جنابت کیا کرتے تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 176]
