Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: No infant in the cradle spoke except three infants: one, Isa (peace be upon him); second, the companion of Jurayj. Now Jurayj was a worshipper. He built a place of worship and lived in it. He was praying when his mother came and called him: O Jurayj! And he said (to himself): O Allah, my mother calls me and I am at prayer (shall I continue my prayer or answer my mother?). At last he remained at prayer, and his mother went back. Then on the second day she came again and called: O Jurayj! He said: O Allah! My mother calls me and I am at prayer. At last he remained at prayer. Then his mother came the third day and called, but Jurayj remained at prayer, so his mother said: O Allah! Do not let him die until he has looked upon the faces of the immoral women (that is, until he has been tested by them). Then the Children of Israel began to speak of Jurayj and his worship, and among the Children of Israel there was a wicked woman by whose beauty examples were given. She said: If you wish, I will put Jurayj to trial. Then that woman presented herself to Jurayj, but Jurayj paid her no attention. At last she went to a shepherd who used to come and take shelter in his place of worship, and allowed him to have relations with her, so he had relations with her, and she became pregnant by it. When she bore the child, she said: The child is Jurayj's. The people, hearing this, came to him, brought him down, demolished his place of worship, and began to beat him. He said: What is with you? They said: You have committed adultery with this wicked woman and she has borne a child by you. Jurayj said: Where is that child? The people brought him, and Jurayj said: Leave me a while that I may pray. Then he prayed, and coming to that child he prodded its belly and said: O child, who is your father? It said: So-and-so, the shepherd. Hearing this, the people rushed to Jurayj and began to kiss and fondle him and said: We will build your place of worship for you with gold and silver. He said: No, build it again with clay just as it was. So the people built it. (The third) Among the Children of Israel there was a child suckling at his mother's breast when a well-dressed, handsome rider passed by on a very fine mount. His mother, seeing him, said: O Allah! Make my son like this rider. Hearing this, the child released his mother's breast and, turning his face toward the rider, looked at him and said: O Allah! Do not make me like him. Having said this much, he leaned again toward the breast and began to suckle. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is as though (at this moment) I see the Prophet (peace be upon him), how he (peace be upon him) sucked his finger and demonstrated how that boy began to suck the breast. Then a slave-girl passed by whom the people were beating and saying: You have committed adultery and stolen. She was saying: Allah the Exalted is sufficient for me and He is my guardian. So his mother said: O Allah! Do not make my son like her. Hearing this, the child again stopped suckling and, looking at that woman, said: O Allah, make me like this slave-girl. At that time there was an exchange between mother and son; the mother said: O shaven-headed one! When a man of fine appearance came by and I said, "O Allah! Make my son so," you said, "O Allah, do not make me so"; and the slave-girl whom the people are beating and saying, "You have committed adultery and stolen," I said, "O Allah! Do not make my son like her," and you say, "O Allah, make me like her" (what is this matter?). The child said: That rider was a tyrannical man, so I supplicated: O Allah, do not make me like him; and this slave-girl, the people slander her and say, "You have committed adultery and stolen," whereas she has neither committed adultery nor stolen, so I said: O Allah, make me like her.

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: گود میں کسی بچے نے بات نہیں کی سوائے تین بچوں کے۔ ایک عیسیٰ علیہ السلام دوسرے جریج کا ساتھی۔ اور جریج نامی ایک شخص عابد تھا، اس نے ایک عبادت خانہ بنایا اور اسی میں رہتا تھا۔ وہ نماز پڑھ رہا تھا کہ اس کی ماں آئی اور اسے بلایا کہ اے جریج! تو وہ (دل میں) کہنے لگا کہ یا اللہ میری ماں پکارتی ہے اور میں نماز میں ہوں (میں نماز پڑھے جاؤں یا اپنی ماں کو جواب دوں)؟ آخر وہ نماز ہی میں رہا تو اس کی ماں واپس چلی گئی۔ پھر جب دوسرا دن ہوا تو وہ پھر آئی اور پکارا کہ اے جریج! وہ بولا کہ اے اللہ! میری ماں پکارتی ہے اور میں نماز میں ہوں، آخر وہ نماز میں ہی رہا پھر اس کی ماں تیسرے دن آئی اور بلایا لیکن جریج نماز ہی میں رہا تو اس کی ماں نے کہا کہ یااللہ! اس کو اس وقت تک نہ مارنا جب تک یہ فاحشہ عورتوں کا منہ نہ دیکھ لے (یعنی ان سے اس کا سابقہ نہ پڑے)۔ پھر بنی اسرائیل نے جریج کا اور اس کی عبادت کا چرچا شروع کیا اور بنی اسرائیل میں ایک بدکار عورت تھی جس کی خوبصورتی سے مثال دیتے تھے، وہ بولی اگر تم کہو تو میں جریج کو آزمائش میں ڈالوں۔ پھر وہ عورت جریج کے سامنے گئی لیکن جریج نے اس کی طرف خیال بھی نہ کیا۔ آخر وہ ایک چرواہے کے پاس گئی جو اس کے عبادت خانے میں آ کر پناہ لیا کرتا تھا اور اس کو اپنے سے صحبت کرنے کی اجازت دی تو اس نے صحبت کی جس سے وہ حاملہ ہو گئی۔ جب بچہ جنا تو بولی کہ بچہ جریج کا ہے۔ لوگ یہ سن کر اس کے پاس آئے، اس کو نیچے اتارا، اس کے عبادت خانہ کو گرایا اور اسے مارنے لگے۔ وہ بولا کہ تمہیں کیا ہوا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ تو نے اس بدکار عورت سے زنا کیا ہے اور اس نے تجھ سے ایک بچے کو جنم دیا ہے۔ جریج نے کہا کہ وہ بچہ کہاں ہے؟ لوگ اس کو لائے تو جریج نے کہا کہ ذرا مجھے چھوڑو میں نماز پڑھ لوں۔ پھر نماز پڑھی اور اس بچہ کے پاس آ کر اس کے پیٹ کو ایک ٹھونسا دیا اور بولا کہ اے بچے تیرا باپ کون ہے؟ وہ بولا کہ فلاں چرواہا ہے۔ یہ سن کر لوگ جریج کی طرف دوڑے اور اس کو چومنے چاٹنے لگے اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم تیرا عبادت خانہ سونے اور چاندی سے بنائے دیتے ہیں۔ وہ بولا کہ نہیں جیسا تھا ویسا ہی مٹی سے پھر بنا دو۔ تو لوگوں نے بنا دیا۔ (تیسرا) بنی اسرائیل میں ایک بچہ تھا جو اپنی ماں کا دودھ پی رہا تھا کہ اتنے میں ایک بہت عمدہ جانور پر خوش وضع، خوبصورت سوار گزرا۔ تو اس کی ماں اس کو دیکھ کر کہنے لگی کہ یا اللہ! میرے بیٹے کو اس سوار کی طرح کرنا۔ یہ سنتے ہی اس بچے نے ماں کی چھاتی چھوڑ دی اور سوار کی طرف منہ کر کے اسے دیکھا اور کہنے لگا کہ یااللہ! مجھے اس کی طرح نہ کرنا۔ اتنی بات کر کے پھر چھاتی میں جھکا اور دودھ پینے لگا۔ سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ گویا میں (اس وقت) نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنی انگلی کو چوس کر دکھایا کہ وہ لڑکا اس طرح چھاتی چوسنے لگا۔ پھر ایک لونڈی ادھر سے گزری جسے لوگ مارتے جاتے تھے اور کہتے تھے کہ تو نے زنا کیا اور چوری کی ہے۔ وہ کہتی تھی کہ مجھے اللہ تعالیٰ ہی کافی ہے اور وہی میرا وکیل ہے۔ تو اس کی ماں نے کہا کہ یا اللہ! میرے بیٹے کو اس کی طرح نہ کرنا۔ یہ سن کر بچے نے پھر دودھ پینا چھوڑ دیا اور اس عورت کی طرف دیکھ کر کہا کہ یا اللہ مجھے اسی لونڈی کی طرح کرنا۔ اس وقت ماں اور بیٹے میں گفتگو ہوئی تو ماں نے کہا کہ او سرمنڈے! جب ایک شخص اچھی صورت کا نکلا اور میں نے کہا کہ یا اللہ! میرے بیٹے کو ایسا کرنا تو تو نے کہا کہ یا اللہ مجھے ایسا نہ کرنا اور لونڈی جسے لوگ مارتے جاتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ تو نے زنا کیا اور چوری کی ہے تو میں نے کہا کہ یا اللہ! میرے بیٹے کو اس کی طرح کا نہ کرنا تو تو کہتا ہے کہ یا اللہ مجھے اس کی طرح کرنا (یہ کیا بات ہے)؟ بچہ بولا، وہ سوار ایک ظالم شخص تھا، میں نے دعا کی کہ یا اللہ مجھے اس کی طرح نہ کرنا اور اس لونڈی پر لوگ تہمت لگاتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ تو نے زنا کیا اور چوری کی ہے حالانکہ اس نے نہ زنا کیا ہے اور نہ چوری کی ہے تو میں نے کہا کہ یا اللہ مجھے اس کی مثل کرنا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1755]
